Ease or chaos – bring on the fall!

So are you happy or sad to see that September has arrived?  Depending on who you are, September can be a time to return to our routine, maybe a comfortable rhythm that has slipped away over the summer.  Perhaps it is a return to school and for some that brings joy and others not so much.  It may represent a time of closings…summer homes, cottages, gardens, flowers to bed.

As the days become shorter in my part of the world and the days cooler, something shifts in me.  Cozy sweaters bring comfort and ease, and those familiar wool socks trigger warm memories.

This time of the year has always been an exciting one for me.  Each year when September rolled around, it was like I got a fresh start when it came to learning.  Nothing was ever boring for me; I was always about connecting the dots and using the newfound knowledge later.  A couple of days ago, I drove through the University in my city; seeing all of those young people be excited and inspired about what is to come just fills me up and sends me to my laptop to seek out new horizons.

So I have carried on for a bit here, but you might ask, what is the point?

My desire is for you to note and understand those emotions which may be coming up.  That is the first step in using emotions to help you build resilience.  Why would you want that?  Well, resilience will help smooth out the bumps and challenging experiences that you face.

Things will still happen that we would happily pass by if we had a choice; however, we are human, and stuff will show up.

Knowing how to use those emotions to build your energy is wise.   At the end of the day, you will have more energy, sleep better, be more alert, enjoy better relationships in all areas of your life that feel better when you are more robust.

So, where to begin?  Just a few minutes a day, with techniques you can practice in the moment, you will be pleasantly surprised with how things start to shift for you.  The key here is to smooth out the messages between the heart and the brain.  It may sound complicated, but the truth is that it is pretty simple

The bottom line is your emotions trump your thoughts!

I want to help you get started if you are ready.
